St Mawes Surf & Turf brings a laid‑back BBQ to the waterfront each week. A relaxed celebration of summer, community and good times by the sea.
Follow the scent drifting across the harbour and order straight from the BBQ — no booking needed.
Make the most of the outside seating with a drink in hand, eat on the beach if you prefer, or join the lively atmosphere inside the bar. With live music setting the rhythm, drinks promotions flowing from the bar, and that unmistakable St Mawes Hotel buzz, it’s the perfect way to ease into the end of the week.
Each Thursday, the grill will feature a changing mix of surf, turf and smoky summer favourites.
Expect Cornish sardines grilled to perfection, mackerel burgers, Cumberland sausage finished with a sticky honey glaze, peri‑peri chicken with just the right heat, and shell‑on prawns cooked until tender and lightly charred.
There will also be either a fish of the day or a butcher’s cut — the fish option could include grilled lobster, John Dory, or whatever is freshest and landed locally that day, while the butcher’s cut might be something like thick‑cut pork chops, cooked simply to let the quality shine.
Sides might include corn ribs with a hint of spice, blistered padron peppers, seasonal salads and crisp fries, all designed for easy, flavour‑first eating. Menus will shift week to week depending on what’s best.
Alongside the BBQ, the bar will be serving summer cocktails, chilled wines and cold beers, with the full SMH drinks list and our woodfired pizzas available too.
