Guy Owen – Head Chef

Head Chef, Guy Owen, has led the team at the St Mawes Hotel & The Idle Rocks since 2015.

Heading up a team of nine highly talented chefs, including Sous Chef Tim Kendall, Guy’s passion lies in educating and developing his team to serve the very best dishes, often described as ‘striking and elegant’.

Using local produce is essential as is working with local fishermen and other suppliers.

Guy makes the most of the array of fresh produce available and uses it to develop his unique style of cooking. The dishes he creates include Asian and North African influence as well as French influence from his training.

Guy developed his expertise at Gordon Ramsey at Claridge’s and La Trompette in Chiswick before heading back to the South West to join Michael Caines at Gidleigh Park in Devon and then at the Driftwood in Portscatho.
