Our sister property across the way is getting extremely excited, as Michelin starred chefs Nathan Outlaw and Alan Murchison are coming to The Idle Rocks in St. Mawes
Here at Idle Rocks we are proud to announce a series of Thursday night dinners, taking place over the winter period, in our luxury surroundings.
To mark the build up to Christmas, we are inviting all of our visitors past and present, to join us for a month of special evenings, created for the food lovers among us.
The nights have been pioneered by our head chef and celebrated food expert, Mark Apsey, who is responsible for the creation and delivery of all our menus here at Idle Rocks.
Together with a small number of carefully hand-picked collaborators, fellow chefs and trusted suppliers, Mark has created a collection of unique culinary events.
The series is spread across four memorable evenings. Starting with an evening in the company of Alan Murchison, Executive Chef of L’Ortolan, the Michelin starred restaurant in Berkshire, followed by an evening featuring Michelin starred chef Nathan Outlaw and then finishing up with a dinner with Rob Wing, of renowned local fishmonger; Wings of St Mawes.
Both Alan and Nathan have lengthy waiting lists for their own restaurants, so we are lucky to have them with us, for one night only; seriously, an exclusive opportunity to experience their extraordinary cooking.

Thursday November 27th – An evening with Alan Murchison, Head Chef of the Michelin starred L’Ortolan restaurant in Berkshire.
Tickets £85 per head inclusive of wines.
Michelin starred head chef at acclaimed eatery L’Ortolan, Alan Murchison, will take you on a fascinating journey through his own culinary experiences, showcasing along the way his enviable talents, through his best of British cuisine.
The evening is also accompanied by gorgeous wines from Jake Osborne at Bibendum Wines.

Thursday December 4th 2014 – An evening with four time Michelin starred chef Nathan Outlaw.
Tickets £90 per head including wines.
One of the UK’s most renowned and decorated chefs, it truly is an honour for all of us here at Idle Rocks, to host an evening featuring Nathan’s celebrated cuisines, complimented by a wide range of wines.
Thursday December 11th 2014 – A celebration of Cornish fish with guest Rob Wing, from Wings of St Mawes.
Ticket price £65 per head inclusive of wines.
Much loved local fish merchant, Rob Wing of ‘Wings of St Mawes’, will be taking us through a menu of his favourite Cornish catches. He will also be discussing the importance of sustainable fishing and the benefit of sourcing produce locally.
Attendees can look forward to a charming evening of fish favourites and local produce.
Thursday December 18th 2014 – Christmas lunch master class with Mark Apsey.
Tickets £80 per head including master class, wines and lunch.
For all you unwitting family chefs, reticent about being tasked with producing the Christmas dinner this year, this event is for you. Our very own Head Chef Mark Apsey, will take you through the fine art of delivery the perfect Christmas lunch. From preparing the veg, to conjuring up the perfect gravy, Mark leaves no stone unturned.
The day is rounded off by a superb complimentary lunch with wines.
